The model at a glance
The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdn is a professional A4 colour laser multifunction printer, recommended for offices, businesses, professional practices, schools, reception areas, shops, administrative departments, agencies and small to medium workgroups that need A4 colour printing, copying, scanning and faxing.
It is suitable for colour business documents, text, invoices, contracts, quotes, presentations, charts, tables, product sheets, internal sales materials, simple brochures, lightweight flyers and documents with logos and images. It can also be used for light graphics and office marketing materials, but it is not the first choice for advanced professional graphics, photographs or print-shop work.
Print speed: up to 27 pages per minute in A4, in both colour and black and white.
Functions: printing, copying, scanning, faxing and email. It is therefore a fully featured multifunction device for everyday document management.
Duplex: automatic duplex printing is built in. It also has an automatic document feeder with single-pass duplex scanning, useful for quickly digitising contracts, files and administrative paperwork.
Print resolution: 600 x 600 dpi, with HP enhanced quality up to 38,400 x 600 dpi. The quality is suitable for sharp text, professional documents, logos, charts, tables, simple images, presentations and lightweight sales materials.
Supported formats: A4, A5, A6, B5, Letter, Legal, envelopes, postcards and custom sizes up to approximately 216 x 356 mm. It does not support A3.
Supported paper weights: suitable for office paper, letterhead, envelopes, labels, lightweight cardstock, compatible glossy paper and colour laser media, depending on the tray or bypass used.
Paper capacity: 300 sheets standard, consisting of a 250-sheet main tray and a 50-sheet multipurpose bypass tray. Output tray capacity is approximately 150 sheets.
ADF: 50-sheet automatic document feeder with single-pass duplex scanning, useful for copying, scanning, faxing and digitising multipage documents.
Connectivity: Gigabit Ethernet, USB and front USB Host. Wi-Fi is not built into the M477fdn version; for native Wi-Fi, the correct variant is the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdw.
Control panel: 4.3" colour touchscreen, easy to use for printing, copying, scanning, faxing, email, USB, settings and the machine's main functions.
Memory and performance: 1.2 GHz processor and 256 MB standard memory, suitable for handling office jobs, colour printing and everyday scanning.
Work volumes: intended for small and medium workgroups with regular workloads. Recommended monthly volume is approximately 750 to 4,000 pages, with a maximum monthly duty cycle of up to approximately 50,000 pages.
Main consumables: HP 410A standard-capacity and HP 410X high-capacity toner cartridges. HP 410X black has an approximate yield of up to 6,500 pages; HP 410X cyan, magenta and yellow each have an approximate yield of up to 5,000 pages.
