The Samsung MultiXpress SL-X3280NR is a professional A3 colour laser multifunction printer, recommended for businesses, offices, professional practices, schools, public bodies, and administrative and sales departments that need colour printing, copying and scanning.
It is suitable for business documents, invoices, contracts, quotations, presentations, charts, tables, product sheets, files, light brochures and internal sales materials. Samsung should be presented as a versatile, well-balanced solution, suited to both documents and office graphics, but without matching the graphic quality and heavy-card handling typical of Xerox, Konica Minolta and Ricoh multifunction printers.
Print speed: up to 28 pages per minute in A4 format, in both colour and black and white.
Functions: printing, copying, colour scanning and digital sending to email, network folders, FTP, USB, computers and the internal drive. Fax is optional and requires the relevant kit, so its presence must be verified on the individual machine.
Duplex: automatic duplex is integrated for printing and copying. Duplex scanning is performed via the RADF, which automatically turns the sheet; it is not a single-pass duplex system with two scanners.
Print resolution: up to 1,200 × 1,200 dpi at reduced speed. It delivers good definition for text, lines, charts, images and professional colour documents.
Supported formats: A5, A4, A3, Letter, Legal, Ledger and custom sizes up to approximately 297 × 432 mm. It does not support SRA3, so it is less suitable than Xerox, Ricoh and Konica Minolta machines for graphic work requiring bleed areas for trimming.
Supported paper weights: approximately 60 to 220 g/m² from the main trays and up to approximately 176 g/m² from the multi-purpose tray. It handles plain, recycled, letterhead and pre-printed paper, heavy paper, lightweight card, compatible glossy paper, labels and envelopes. It is not suitable for 300–350 g/m² card.
ADF: 100-sheet RADF (reversing automatic document feeder). Scanning speed reaches up to approximately 45 pages per minute in both colour and black and white, with optical resolution up to 600 × 600 dpi.
Connectivity: 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0. Wi-Fi and NFC are available via an optional module and must therefore be verified for the individual configuration.
Work volumes: suitable for medium-volume offices. The recommended monthly volume is approximately 5,000 pages, while the stated maximum duty cycle is approximately 80,000 pages per month.
Main consumables: Samsung CLT-K804S black toner with an indicative yield of up to approximately 20,000 pages; CLT-C804S cyan, CLT-M804S magenta and CLT-Y804S yellow toner, each with an indicative yield of up to approximately 15,000 pages per colour. Yields are calculated at a reference coverage of 5% and may vary depending on the type of document printed.
Maintenance components: Samsung CLT-R804 imaging unit/drum, HP code SS673A, with an indicative life of up to approximately 50,000 pages; Samsung CLT-W808 waste toner container, HP code SS701A, with an indicative yield of up to approximately 33,700 pages. Developers have an indicative life of up to approximately 300,000 pages, but their technical codes may vary depending on the colour and component revision.
Recommended use: businesses, administrative and sales offices, professional practices, schools and public bodies seeking a well-balanced A3 colour multifunction printer for documents, presentations, charts, light brochures, scanning and digital archiving. It is suitable for document printing and office graphics, but does not excel as much as Xerox in graphic quality and heavy-card handling, or as much as Kyocera in component life and low maintenance costs.
