The model at a glance
The Samsung MultiXpress SL-X3220NR is a professional A3 colour laser multifunction printer, recommended for businesses, offices, professional practices, schools, public organisations, and administrative and sales departments that need colour printing, copying and scanning.
It is suitable for business documents, invoices, contracts, quotations, presentations, charts, tables, product sheets, files, lightweight brochures and internal sales materials. Samsung offers a versatile, well-balanced solution for both document printing and everyday office graphics, but it does not match the graphic quality or heavy-cardstock handling of the best Xerox, Konica Minolta and Ricoh models.
Print speed: up to 22 pages per minute in A4, in both colour and black and white. The stated maximum duty cycle is approximately 60,000 pages per month.
Functions: printing, copying, colour scanning, digital sending and document archiving. Fax is available through an optional kit; its presence must be checked on the individual configuration.
Duplex: automatic duplex printing and copying are integrated. Duplex scanning is performed by the RADF, which automatically turns the sheet; it does not use a single-pass duplex system with two scanners.
Print resolution: up to 1,200 × 1,200 dpi at reduced speed. It delivers good definition for text, lines, charts, images, logos and professional colour documents.
Supported formats: A5, A4, A3, Letter, Legal, Ledger and custom sizes up to approximately 297 × 432 mm. It does not support SRA3, making it less suitable for graphic work requiring trim bleed.
Supported paper weights: approximately 60 to 220 g/m² from the main trays and up to approximately 176 g/m² from the multipurpose tray. It handles plain paper, recycled paper, letterhead, pre-printed paper, heavyweight paper, lightweight cardstock, compatible glossy paper, labels and envelopes. It is not suitable for 300–350 g/m² cardstock.
ADF: 100-sheet RADF automatic document feeder. Scanning speed reaches up to approximately 45 pages per minute, in both colour and black and white, with optical resolution up to 600 × 600 dpi.
Connectivity: Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 and USB 2.0. Wi-Fi and NFC are available through an optional module and must be checked on the individual machine.
Workloads: suitable for offices with low-to-medium and medium workloads. The recommended monthly volume is approximately 3,500 pages, while the stated maximum duty cycle is approximately 60,000 pages per month.
Main consumables: Samsung CLT-K804S black toner, rated for up to approximately 20,000 pages; CLT-C804S cyan, CLT-M804S magenta and CLT-Y804S yellow toner, each rated for up to approximately 15,000 pages per colour. Yields are calculated at a reference 5% coverage and may vary depending on the type of document printed.
Maintenance components: Samsung CLT-R804 imaging unit/drum, rated for up to approximately 50,000 pages; Samsung CLT-W808 waste toner container, rated for up to approximately 33,700 pages; JC96-10264A under-drum technical kit. The developers are rated for up to approximately 300,000 pages. Toner, drum, developers and waste container are separate components and can be replaced individually according to wear.
Recommended use: businesses, administrative and sales offices, professional practices, schools and public organisations looking for an A3 colour multifunction printer for documents, presentations, charts, lightweight brochures, scanning and digital archiving. It is a well-balanced machine for document printing and office graphics, but does not perform as well as Xerox for graphic quality and heavy cardstock, or as Kyocera for component life and low maintenance costs.
