The model at a glance
The Brother HL-L5000D is a professional A4 monochrome laser printer recommended for offices, businesses, professional practices, schools, reception areas, warehouses, administrative departments and small/medium workgroups that need only fast, reliable black-and-white printing.
It is primarily suited to printing documents, text, invoices, contracts, quotes, delivery notes, administrative documents, forms, office paperwork, reports, labels and everyday A4 documents. It is not designed for colour graphics, photographs, copying or scanning, as it is a monochrome print-only printer.
Print speed: up to approximately 40/42 pages per minute in A4 black and white, depending on the version and market.
Functions: print only. It does not have copying, scanning or fax capabilities.
Duplex: integrated automatic duplex printing, useful for saving paper and handling professional documents, contracts, files and administrative paperwork.
Print resolution: up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Quality is suitable for sharp text, professional documents, tables, barcodes, simple charts and business forms.
Supported sizes: A4, A5, A6, Letter, Legal, Executive, Folio, envelopes and custom sizes via the bypass tray. It does not support A3.
Supported paper weights: 60 to 120 g/m² from the main tray and 60 to 200 g/m² from the multipurpose bypass tray. Duplex printing supports paper from approximately 60 to 105 g/m².
Paper capacity: 300 sheets standard, comprising a 250-sheet main tray and a 50-sheet multipurpose bypass tray. Expandable to approximately 1,340 sheets with optional trays, useful for offices with regular print volumes.
ADF: not included, as the model has no copying or scanning functions.
Connectivity: USB 2.0 and parallel port. The HL-L5000D version has no built-in Ethernet network or Wi-Fi; for a wired network, the HL-L5100DN is a better choice, while wireless connectivity requires a variant or Brother model with native Wi-Fi.
Operating panel: 1-line LCD with physical buttons, simple and practical for settings, machine status and the printer’s main functions.
Workloads: suitable for small and medium workgroups with regular document volumes. It is a robust, fast printer for users who need to print A4 black-and-white documents every day, without requiring network connectivity or multifunction features.
Main consumables: Brother TN-3430 black toner, with an estimated yield of up to approximately 3,000 pages, and high-yield Brother TN-3480 toner, up to approximately 8,000 pages. Brother DR-3400 drum unit, with an estimated life of up to approximately 30,000 pages.
